On the 23rd of May 2019, the Turkmen delegation headed by the Deputy Chairman of the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan participated to the XVI Eurasian Media-Forum that is being held in Almaty city of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Around 600 delegates from more than 50 countries of the world participated to the Media-Forum that is led by the Chairman of Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dariga Nazarbayeva. Among the participants, the President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian, former President of Estonia Toomas Ilves, politicians, heads and journalists of the international agencies.
The participants of the Media-Forum discussed the key issues including the activities of international mass media on Eurasian continent, as well as in the whole world.
Also, a round table entitled “Regional integration in Central Asia” was organized in the framework of the Forum. The Turkmen delegation gave a speech during the event on the initiatives proposed by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on transport, energy and water diplomacy. In addition, the proposal of the Turkmen Leader on holding the First Caspian Economic Forum in 2019 in Turkmenistan was specifically noted. This initiative was announced during the Fifth Caspian Summit on the 12th of August 2019 in the city of Aktau of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The participants of the round table particularly noted the efforts of Neutral Turkmenistan on sustaining security and stable development in the Central Asia and the whole region. In this regard, the significance of the initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in establishing peaceful dialogue was underlined.
The work of the Forum will continue until May 24, 2019.
