On July 5, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Ambassador of the United States of America to Turkmenistan Matthew Steven Klimov.
During the conversation, a wide range of issues of developing friendly relations between the two countries, a number of topics on the modern international and regional agenda were discussed.
Noting the importance of further strengthening political-diplomatic cooperation, the interlocutors, in particular, considered a number of projects in the field of security. The Head of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan and the US Ambassador stated the effectiveness of the mechanism of political consultations between the two countries and expressed readiness to expand them.
During the meeting, issues of development of the Turkmen-American trade-economic cooperation were discussed, prospects for mutually beneficial partnership in a number of areas were noted.
Particular attention was paid to bilateral cultural-humanitarian cooperation. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan highly appreciated the activities of the US Ambassador’s Fund for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage, which makes a valuable contribution to the preservation of the unique historical heritage of Turkmenistan.
During the conversation, the implementation of joint educational programs was discussed in detail.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on a wide range of topical regional and global issues of mutual interest.
