Tashkent hosts Agro-Forum in Central Asia – Italy – Azerbaijan Format

An international business forum titled “Innovations, Regenerative Agriculture, Export, and Digitalization for Sustainable Agro-Ecosystems” is taking place in Tashkent on 23–24 March 2026, featuring participation from Italy, Central Asian countries, and Azerbaijan.

On the first day of the forum, high-level delegates from Italy, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan delivered reports. Key speakers included Francesco Lollobrigida, Italy’s Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forests; the Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan; and deputy heads of relevant ministries from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan.

The speakers emphasized that the widespread implementation of innovation in agriculture, the efficient use of land and water resources, and the development of adaptive solutions to climate change are among today’s priority tasks.

It was specifically noted that the formation of sustainable agro-ecosystems and the ensurance of food security are possible through strengthening regional and international cooperation, attracting investment, and expanding the exchange of advanced expertise and technologies.

Following the discussions, the final communique of the “Italy — Central Asia (C5) + Azerbaijan” international forum was adopted. According to the document, the parties reached significant agreements aimed at elevating cooperation in the agricultural and agri-food sectors to a qualitatively new level.

Italy is represented at the forum by over 120 delegates from leading companies and organizations, such as ICE (Italian Trade Agency), SACE (Italian Export Credit Agency), and SIMEST (Italian State Investment Agency). Also in attendance are representatives from major industry associations — FederUnacoma (Italian Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Federation), Confagricoltura (General Confederation of Agriculture), Confindustria (General Confederation of Industry), and CDP (Cassa Depositi e Prestiti) — as well as major corporations including CNH, Agco Italia, Granarolo, UNITEC, and Annovi Reverberi.
