The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, held telephone negotiations with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi. During the conversation, the parties discussed current issues regarding bilateral cooperation, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
At the beginning of the talk, the heads of the foreign ministries exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the Nowruz holiday, wishing peace and prosperity to the peoples of both countries.
During the negotiations, the Iranian side expressed gratitude to Turkmenistan for the humanitarian aid sent for the children of Iran on behalf of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Fund for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship. Araghchi noted the importance of this gesture of goodwill and emphasized the significance of the humanitarian dimension in the relations between the two countries.
