Meeting of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the US Special Representative for Afghanistan

On June 9, 2022, Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajyiev met with US State Department’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Thomas West via videoconference.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats to resolve the situation in Afghanistan. In this regard, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan is actively involved in this work, putting forward constructive proposals and initiatives.

The expediency of developing a consolidated approach to ensuring peace and security in Afghanistan and intensifying economic and humanitarian cooperation with this country was noted.
