ILO Director General presented with instrument of ratification by Turkmenistan of Convention no. 122 on Employment Policy

On April 14, 2021, a ceremony was held in Geneva in video format to present the ILO Director General Guy Ryder of the instrument on the ratification of Convention 122 of the International Labor Organization on Employment Policy, signed by the President of Turkmenistan.

During the ceremony, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan A.Khaljanov noted Turkmenistan’s commitment to constructive dialogue with authoritative international organizations, in particular with the International Labor Organization.

As a full member of the ILO since September 1993 and having ratified 10 ILO Conventions, 8 of which are fundamental, Turkmenistan fully supports the main provisions of the Organization and practical approaches to improving the quality of life through the creation of decent work as an important goal at the national level, thereby implementing the universally recognized norms and principles of the provisions of the ILO into national legislation.

Expressing gratitude to the Turkmen side for active cooperation with the International Labor Organization, G. Ryder welcomed the efforts of Turkmenistan for the systematic strengthening and improvement of the national legislative base of Turkmenistan and stressed that Turkmenistan became the 115th country to ratify Convention No. 122.
