Between 18 and 19 May 2026, the Tashkent International Migration Forum (TIMF-2026) was held in the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This forum provided a platform to discuss issues of ensuring safe, orderly and regular migration in the region and worldwide.
The international conference was attended by representatives of a number of foreign states and international organizations, including the Turkmen delegation under the leadership of the Deputy Chairman of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan.
The agenda of the forum covered a wide range of important tasks in the field of global migration policy. During the discussions, special attention was paid to considering migration as a condition for safe mobility within the sustainable development framework, as well as to strengthening partnerships in the field of labour migration, including the protection of migrants’ rights.
Within the framework of the forum’s program, the issues of implementing gender policy and expanding access of women migrants to social and legal services were analyzed. Along with this, experts discussed the impact of environmental factors and climate change on human migration.
The forum held in Tashkent contributed to the improvement of international cooperation and the exchange of best practices, reaffirming once again the importance of coordinating the efforts of states and international organizations within the framework of the modern global migration system. At the conclusion of the forum, the parties expressed confidence that mutual cooperation would continue to develop harmoniously in the future and wished success in the ongoing work.
