The first face-to-face edition of the B2B event, held since 2021, was hosted in Cannes, France, on 6-8 July 2022. The event’s second edition, which provides many opportunities for developing healthcare meetings, will be held in İstanbul later this year after practical efforts of TGA, Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency.
The Future of Healthcare Meetings İstanbul will bring the decision makers of the world’s most essential and most significant medical congresses to Türkiye. The event aims to raise the quality of healthcare meetings in the post-pandemic world and expand İstanbul’s share in this market. All industry stakeholders, including health professionals, health association leaders and meeting suppliers, will be able to jointly explore the change and development steps required to organise engaging and relevant medical meetings at the event. Bringing the health sector together, the event will create a platform that offers new solutions and strategies for conducting effective and more sustainable global health meetings in the future via high-level discussions and information sharing. The Amsterdam-based ICCA is among the leading umbrella organisations in the congress and meetings sector, with over 1,100 members in nearly 100 countries and regions worldwide. Since its founding in 1963, ICCA has represented the world’s top destinations and most experienced suppliers of international meetings and events, specialising in operation, transport and accommodation. Its members include city promotion and marketing offices, international agencies that organise conventions and conferences, other companies that provide hospitality services, and venues that provide meetings and accommodation services. ICCA operates in regional formations to increase cooperation and communication among its members. Being a member state in the Mediterranean region, Türkiye has also signed a Destination Partnership Agreement with ICCA and implemented a vital cooperation. The AC Forum, which focuses on leadership and congress management, stands out as the only organisation established by self-governing associations. Away from commercial influences, through the interprofessional sharing of best practices and ideas, AC Forum members exchange information to advance association leadership and congressional management and take it to a higher level. In addition, MICE (congress tourism) sector stakeholders in the country will meet at the İstanbul ICCA Summit prepared with the ICCA Destination partnership before the ICCA AC Forum – The Future of Healthcare Meetings. Planned for 5 June, the summit aims to make the ICCA AC Forum more efficient.
