Meeting at the Parliament of Georgia: priorities for interparliamentary cooperation

On 23 April 2026, at the Parliament of Georgia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Georgia Mr. D.Seyitmammedov met with the Chairperson of the Procedural Issues Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Chairman of Georgia-Turkmenistan Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group Mr. Daviti Matikashvili.

At the meeting, the parties underscored the strength of bilateral relations and discussed opportunities for cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade and economic, and cultural-humanitarian fields, as well as within international organizations.

The participants of the meeting noted with satisfaction the dynamic growth of Turkmen-Georgian relations at the parliamentary level. The significant role of high-level visits and the active engagement of parliamentarians, which contribute to strengthening mutual trust and facilitating the exchange of experience, was emphasized.

Particular attention was paid to the further development of cooperation between inter-parliamentary friendship groups, which serve as an important instrument for promoting constructive and sustainable interstate dialogue.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their interest in and readiness to further strengthen the partnership in all areas of mutual interest.
