Working visit of he Governor of the Ahal region to London

On the 30th of September 2019, the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Minister of Agriculture and Environment Protection as well as the Governor of the Ahal region of Turkmenistan arrived to the capital of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, London.

The meetings of the Turkmen delegation with the Prime-minister’s Special Trade Envoy for Turkmenistan Baroness Emma Nicholson, as well as in the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs of the United Kingdom took place in the first day of the visit.

During the meetings, the parties noted with satisfaction the friendly nature of Turkmen-British relations and presence of substantial potential for expanding cooperation in different spheres.  

Expressing interest in further strengthening of Turkmen-British ties, the parties discussed a number of current issues, including the opportunities for cooperation in the area of applying digitalization to the agricultural sector, enhancing the labor productivity, exchange of experience and scientific researches between the agricultural educational institutions of two countries.     

On October 1, 2019, the delegation of Turkmenistan visited a number of research-and-development centers of the Northern Ireland.   

In the first half of the day, the delegation of Turkmenistan visited the College of Agriculture and Entrepreneurship and met with its Director.  During the visit, the Turkmen delegates got acquainted with the research and educational complexes of the College and their functions.  

In the second part of the day, the Turkmen delegation visited the “Movangher” Fish Farm and met with its leading staff.  During the presentation, the delegation was acquainted with the activities of the given fish farm.  

The program of the working trip also consists of the visit to the Institute of Rural Food Industry and Biological Sciences, as well as the Institute of Global Food Security.
