Current issues of Turkmen-Afghan cooperation were discussed

On July 3, 2025, within the framework of the visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov to the Republic of Azerbaijan, a meeting was held with the with the Acting Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Afghanistan for Economic Affairs Abdul Ghani Baradar.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed current issues in the field of political, diplomatic and trade and economic cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to energy and transport and communications cooperation. In this regard, issues of construction of the transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan – India (TAPI), power transmission lines and fiber-optic communication along the route Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan (TAP) were touched upon.
