U.S. Ambassador Elizabeth Rood Strengthens U.S.-Turkmen Ties

U.S. Ambassador Elizabeth Rood visited the Balkan Velayat to strengthen diplomatic and commercial ties between the United States and Turkmenistan.  During her visit, she met with the Hakims of Turkmenbashy, Balkanabat, and Balkan Velayat.  Ambassador Rood also engaged with local business representatives and U.S. companies operating in the region.

In addition, Ambassador Rood visited several NGOs, including the Mert Mountaineering Club and others.  She also toured various sites related to Turkmenistan’s maritime activities.

Ambassador Rood’s visit underscores the U.S. commitment to fostering strong diplomatic ties and supporting commercial initiatives in Turkmenistan.  The U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat works with U.S. companies and the Government of Turkmenistan to find new ways to expand investment and commercial ties and promote economic growth.

U.S. companies stand ready to provide solutions that will help Turkmenistan achieve its economic growth objectives.
