Turkmenistan delegation participates in Global Women’s Summit 2025

On October 13, in Beijing, the delegation of Turkmenistan led by the Chairwoman of the Women’s Union of Turkmenistan Oguljennet Berdiliyeva took part in the Global Women’s Summit 2025.

Speaking at the summit with the theme of “Shared Future: Renewed and Accelerated Progress for Women’s All-round Development,” Oguljennet Berdiliyeva emphasized that ensuring women’s rights is one of the priorities of the state policy of Turkmenistan. Under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, systematic work is being carried out to create equal opportunities for women in the fields of education, healthcare, science, economy, and public administration.

Being the largest public organization, the Women’s Union of Turkmenistan actively participates in the implementation of national programs aimed at promoting the role of women in society, gender equality, and strengthening the institution of a family.

In her speech, the head of Turkmen delegation highlighted the support for Turkmen women entrepreneurs, the launch of projects in rural areas, assistance to young female professionals in their careers and education, and the development of international cooperation. Turkmenistan places special emphasis on raising a new generation of women who are confident, educated, patriotic and open to the world.

Turkmenistan actively cooperates with international partners, including the UN and its specialized agencies in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly in achieving Goal 5: Ensuring Gender Equality.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing.

Thirty years ago, at the Beijing Conference, which brought together thousands of women from all around the world, the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action were adopted identifying not only problems but also ways to solve them for women in every part of the world. This document became a powerful impetus for reforms aimed at improving the conditions of women in various countries, including Turkmenistan.
