Turkmenistan and Ukrainian Foreign Minister met on the phone

On June 1, 2020, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine D.Kuleba. During the negotiations, the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries discussed the current state and future prospects of Turkmen-Ukrainian cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade-economic and humanitarian spheres.

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Ukraine emphasized the importance of mutual support for the initiatives and undertakings of the two states at the venues of reputable international organizations, primarily within the UN and others.

In this context, the parties noted the importance of continuing the inter-ministerial consultations, the resumption of regular meetings of representatives of the public and private sectors of the two countries, at the initial stage, by video conferencing.

The ministers also discussed cooperation in combating the threat of the spread of coronavirus infection and enhancing mechanisms for universal cooperation to jointly counter the threats of epidemics.

Mutual interest was expressed in strengthening cooperation in the two states in various areas of mutually beneficial partnership, and in intensifying cooperation on the cultural-humanitarian component of bilateral relations.
