Turkmenistan and Great Britain: 30 years of fruitful cooperation

On April 22, 2022, screening of the Sir David Attenborough’s documentary film “A life on Our Planet” was held at the “Ashgabat” cinema of our capital as a part of the activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Delivering her remarks before the screening, Ms. Lucia Wilde, Her Majesty’s Ambassador noted the importance of the issues of climate change and protection of environment for all of us. British diplomat highly appreciated the efforts made by our country in this area.

As is known, Turkmenistan pays special attention to the issues of environment; state strategy implemented in this sphere is aimed at harmonizing the development of society and nature.

An exhibition of the pictures on the theme of environment was also organized at the cinema hall. Residents of our capital as well as students of higher educational institutions attended the event.
