Turkmenistan and Georgia sign agreement on cooperation in customs matters

On March 7, 2025, following the extended negotiations between members of the governments of Turkmenistan and Georgia, held within the framework of the official visit of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, an Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of Georgia on cooperation and mutual administrative assistance in customs matters was signed.

The document constitutes the legal basis for further practical interaction between the customs authorities of the two countries.

Due to the signed Agreement the parties will interact on a wide range of issues, such as combating customs violations, including smuggling, electronic exchange of information on goods and vehicles moved across the border, interaction in the field of customs statistics data analysis, and customs risk management.
