Turkmen School Students Participate in a STEM Olympiad in Astana

Turkmen school students are taking part in the STEM Olympiad (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) titled “Central ASIA FIRST Championship 2026”, which is being held from February 10 to 13 in the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Astana. This was reported by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

FTC is a program founded in the United States and implemented by First Global, one of the world’s largest technology organizations. Each year, participants are given new challenges that require them to design autonomous robots capable of completing specific tasks.

This is the largest robotics championship in the world, bringing together more than 70,000 students from over 7,000 teams representing more than 100 countries.

The championship is first held at the regional level in 30 countries (the Central Asian stage takes place in Kazakhstan), with the final stage in Houston, USA. To qualify for the finals, 60 teams will be selected from more than 400 teams competing in the regional stages.

Turkmenistan participated in this competition for the first time in 2025 and successfully won the “International Achievement” award.

This year, Turkmenistan is represented at the championship by the OguzRobot team (No. #28909) and the Erjeller team (No. #28930).
