From March 1 to March 6, 2026, with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Türkiye, members of the fan club of the Arkadag Football Club carried out an ascent to Mount Ağrı, the highest point of Türkiye.
This initiative was dedicated to the proclamation of 2026 under the motto “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Determined Winged Horses,” as well as to the 35th anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan. The event was aimed at developing sports diplomacy, promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, and strengthening the values of patriotism and national unity.

The expedition was led by the experienced mountaineer and head of the group, Agajan Ovlyakulyev. Over the course of six days, the participants overcame difficult sections of the route and the challenging climatic conditions of the high mountains, demonstrating a high level of preparation, unity, and determination.
Upon reaching the summit of Mount Ağrı at an altitude of 5,137 meters, the State Flag of Turkmenistan, the logo of the Arkadag Football Club, and the logo of the Year 2026 were ceremoniously unfurled. This symbolic act became an expression of respect for national values, sporting achievements, and commitment to the ideals of peace, friendship, and cooperation among nations.
It is noteworthy that with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Türkiye, as well as on the initiative of Turkmen students studying at higher educational institutions in Türkiye and sports fans, fan clubs of the Arkadag Football Club were established in the cities of Ankara and Antalya.
This step became clear evidence of the steadily growing international interest in the club and a testament to the active participation of Turkmen youth in the development of socio-cultural and sports ties between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye. The expansion of the circle of supporters abroad reflects the strengthening authority of Turkmen sports and its increasing presence in the international humanitarian space.
