The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad hosts a screening of the feature film “Mahtumkuli Fragi”

On May 22, 2025, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad hosted a screening of the feature film “Mahtumkuli Fragi” for representatives of the Afghan Turkmen diaspora living in Pakistan.

At the beginning of the event, the guests were informed that the feature film “Mahtumkuli Fragi” was shot in 2024 as part of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the poet’s birthday in collaboration with Turkmen and Uzbek filmmakers.

The audience noted the high artistic level of the film and its importance as a means of preserving and popularizing cultural heritage. They emphasized that the project, implemented under the patronage of the presidents of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, clearly demonstrates the strong cultural ties between the two countries. The guests noted, that thanks to the joint work of filmmakers from the two countries, the film received deep historical and artistic content and vividly conveyed the spirit of the era in which Mahtumkuli Fragi lived and worked.

The screening of the film ended with a warm discussion, during which the participants expressed gratitude to the organizers and creators of the film for the opportunity to touch the spiritual heritage of the great poet.
