Telephone conversation between the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation

On August 29, 2022, a telephone conversation took place between the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.

Having heartily congratulated Hero-Arkadag on being awarded the Order of Russia “For Merit to the Fatherland” IV degree, the speaker of the upper house of the Parliament of the Russian Federation conveyed warm words of greeting and congratulations on this occasion from President Vladimir Putin. Expressing sincere wishes for good health, longevity and new successes in work, Valentina Matvienko noted the huge contribution of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty to the promotion of interstate relations based on the principles of good neighborliness, friendship and effective partnership.

Thanking for the congratulations, Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed return greetings and sincere wishes of happiness and prosperity to the top leadership and people of Russia. Expressing sincere gratitude to President Vladimir Putin for conferring the state award of the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty stressed that he perceives it as a high appreciation and recognition of the creativity of the path jointly traveled by Turkmenistan and Russia over many years.

“The establishment of strong and long-term relations between our countries is the key to the inviolability of the desire of the two peoples for progress and prosperity. “At this special moment for me, I consider it necessary to note the outstanding contribution of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to strengthening interstate partnership,” said Hero-Arkadag.

In continuation of the telephone conversation, the interlocutors noted with satisfaction that today relations of in-depth strategic cooperation have been established between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, which provide for bringing bilateral ties to a higher level and making them especially close and dynamic.

Noting the special role of inter-parliamentary cooperation in strengthening contacts, which are an important component of the Turkmen-Russian partnership, Hero-Arkadag and the speaker of the upper house of the Parliament of the Russian Federation confirmed their mutual readiness to maintain relations between the legislative bodies of both states, using them for comprehensive communication on the broad agenda of bilateral dialogue.

Once again thanking Valentina Matvienko for warm congratulations and good wishes on the occasion of awarding the Order of the Russian Federation “For Merit to the Fatherland” IV degree, Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished her good health and further success in responsible state activities.

Expressing gratitude for the kind words, the speaker of the upper house of the Parliament of the Russian Federation noted that the Russian Federation is waiting for the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan on an official visit.
