National Leader of the Turkmen People: Turkmenistan is a Reliable Partner of the UN

Today, a telephone conversation took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres. This was reported by the “Watan” news program.
This year is dedicated to the implementation of the UN General Assembly resolution declaring 2025 the “International Year of Peace and Trust” and the execution of a wide-ranging program of events to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality.
“The international forum could become the main event among upcoming global activities,” said the National Leader of the Turkmen people, emphasizing that this forum is planned to be held on December 12 this year in the capital of our country, Ashgabat, at the level of heads of state and leaders of international organizations.
In this context, he extended a respectful invitation to UN Secretary-General António Guterres to participate in the summit.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres highlighted the importance of Turkmenistan declaring 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust and noted that this year also marks the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations.
In this regard, Secretary-General António Guterres emphasized that UN structures would actively participate in international events organized by Turkmenistan.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people reaffirmed the country’s readiness to cooperate closely with the United Nations, stressing that neutral Turkmenistan has been, is, and will remain a reliable partner and ally of the UN, as well as a dependable pillar in the region and globally.
