Meeting with the Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Croatian Commission on Economic Cooperation

On April 16, 2025, was held a meeting between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Croatia (with residence in Bucharest) A. Annaev and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Croatia, the Co-Chairman of the Croatian part of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Croatian Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, Mr. Goran Romek.

The main topic of the talks was the discussion of issues related to the preparation for the next, 4th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Croatian Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, which is planned to be held in Ashgabat in the second half of this year.

It was emphasized that the upcoming meeting is intended to become an important stage in the development of mutually beneficial trade and economic partnership between the two countries and the expansion of contacts between the business circles of the two countries. In this context, A. Annaev proposed to continue the practice of holding business forums, as well as to organize trade and economic exhibitions of Croatian companies in Ashgabat and Turkmen products in Zagreb.

Among the issues discussed, due place was given to cooperation in the field of tourism. The Turkmen side, noting that the Republic of Croatia is known throughout the world for its beautiful resorts and unique natural sites, proposed to study the Croatian experience and establish close contacts with the relevant structures, as well as establish direct contacts between tour operators of the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed the mutual interest of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Croatia in further expanding and strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation, entering new prospective areas and projects.
