On December 4, 2021, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov and the Head of the Country Office of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Turkmenistan Egor Zaitsev.
At the beginning of the meeting, the new appointed Head of the WHO Country Office in Turkmenistan presented copies of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and expressed his readiness to make every effort to further strengthen cooperation between Turkmenistan and WHO.
The Turkmen side, in turn, congratulated Egor Zaitsev on his appointment to his new position as Head of the WHO Country Office and conveyed best wishes and success in his future work.
In the course of the conversation, the parties noted the high level of cooperation in priority areas, as well as exchanged views on topical issues of the international health agenda.
The diplomats reviewed results of the visit to Turkmenistan by WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge, as well as the mission of WHO European Office to Turkmenistan. In addition, the sides discussed issues related to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and WHO Country Office in Turkmenistan on cooperation in combatting COVID-19.
