Ceremony of presenting passports to new citizens of Turkmenistan

Today, in the conference hall of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan, a ceremony was held for the presentation of Turkmen citizenship passports to stateless persons and residence permits to foreign nationals residing in Turkmenistan, in accordance with the Decree and Resolution signed by our esteemed President.

This large-scale event was attended by representatives of international organizations working in our country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, various ministries and sectoral agencies, as well as honored elders, mothers, and members of the mass media.

Speakers at the event highlighted that, in Independent and Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan, care for individuals is of utmost priority, with all conditions created for citizens to live a peaceful, prosperous, and free life. This concern extends not only to the nation’s citizens but also to those stateless individuals who have tied their lives to this land.

In 2024, thousands of stateless persons, permanently residing in the country, became citizens of Turkmenistan on the basis of the instructions of the respected President «Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi». And this, in turn, is a vivid example of the fact that, on the basis of the principles of permanent neutrality, Turkmenistan conducts important and exemplary work on the issues of refugees and stateless persons on the basis of international organizations.

On the eve of celebrating the 33rd anniversary of the Independence of our permanently neutral homeland, the granting of Turkmen citizenship to 1,146 stateless individuals and residence permits to 134 foreign nationals underscores the continuous and successful implementation of humanitarian policies under our esteemed President’s leadership.

The individuals who were granted citizenship today express their boundless gratitude to our esteemed President. Thanks to his compassionate support and guidance, they now have the honor of becoming full-fledged citizens of our country. We wish these newly recognized citizens and those who have been granted the privilege of residing in our peaceful, neutral homeland continued success as they contribute to the swift progress of our nation.

In their remarks, the new citizens expressed their heartfelt wishes for the further success of our esteemed President’s great initiatives for the benefit of the people and the country, which will continue to bring prosperity!
