On September 5, 2022, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov had a meeting with the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreyev.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of deepening cooperation in various fields between Turkmenistan and the Organization of Turkic States, in particular in security matters.
It was emphasized that Turkmenistan is interested in its partnership with a number of international structures affiliated with this Organization, in particular with TURKPA, the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of cooperation within the framework of the Organization in the field of transport and energy. Also, the OTS Secretary General briefed the Turkmen side on the agenda and preparations for the upcoming summit of the Organization of Turkic States, scheduled to be held in November this year in Samarkand.
