At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, a briefing dedicated to the study of the experience of foreign countries to prevent the penetration and spread of coronavirus infection in the country was held. The briefing was attended by heads and employees of the Foreign Ministry, as well as heads of diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan accredited abroad.
Speaking at the briefing, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov noted that under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, protecting human health and life, as well as ensuring safety are priority tasks of state policy, and the state is taking all necessary efforts in this direction. Of particular importance are our state’s international initiatives aimed at further developing and strengthening cooperation with specialized structures and agencies of the United Nations, primarily with the World Health Organization.
The briefing also focused on close cooperation of Turkmenistan with various countries of the world in this direction, the constant exchange of experience among medical communities in preventing the emergence and spread of coronavirus and other particularly dangerous infections.
The Minister drew the attention of diplomats to the need to continue active work on preventive measures against COVID-19.
The Turkmen delegation took part in the meeting of the OIC Ministerial Council on Afghanistan
