On 31 August 2026, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Muhammetgeldi Ayazov met with Dr. Raed bin Khalid Qarmali, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Public Diplomacy.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister R. Qarmali briefed the Ambassador on the implementation of the “Vision 2030” programme, noting that the programme is aimed at developing the country’s economic and social sectors. He also emphasized that the programme is being implemented by young people and for young people.
The meeting also addressed issues related to further strengthening political, cultural, scientific and educational, and humanitarian relations between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In particular, the Ambassador put forward proposals to further expand cooperation between higher education institutions, including through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and relevant cooperation documents. The importance of exchanging experience in this field, providing student training, and organizing joint scientific conferences and exhibitions was also emphasized.
