Expanding trade relations between Turkmenistan and Pakistan discussed in Islamabad

On May 11, 2026, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan A.Movlamov met with Federal Commerce minister of Pakistan Jam Kamal Khan to review the current state of bilateral relations and explore new avenues for cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the growing importance of regional trade corridors, logistics connectivity, and the strengthening of trade relations between Pakistan and the countries of Central Asia. Discussions focused on expanding trade routes, facilitating the smooth movement of goods, and enhancing direct engagement between the business communities of both countries.

The two sides also expressed interest in deepening cooperation in the energy sector, advancing infrastructure projects, and continuing interaction through business forums, trade exhibitions, and chambers of commerce and industry.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their confidence that the further expansion of cooperation in trade, logistics, and energy would contribute to strengthening the economic partnership and fostering closer bilateral ties between the two countries.
