A two-day eco-tour for active youth was held at the Amudarya State Nature Reserve. The event aimed to enhance the environmental literacy of the younger generation and foster a responsible attitude toward the region’s natural resources. The primary goals of the eco-tour included environmental education for youth, practical training in the fundamentals of nature conservation, and the development of environmental culture and civic responsibility. During the program, participants—guided by specialized experts—studied the condition of tugay forests (unique riparian ecosystems of the reserve), visited habitats of rare bird and animal species listed in the Red Data Book, and acquired practical skills for nature preservation.
The practical segment of the program featured:
- Training on rules of conduct in protected natural areas.
- Workshops on environmental cleanliness principles.
- An introduction to the concept of environmentally conscious nutrition and modern standards.
“This eco-tour allowed us to get closer to the nature of our native land and realize the importance of preserving its fragile ecosystems,” shared Bahargul Kulieva, a volunteer for the “Young Naturalist” organization. “By studying the amazing world of the reserve, we saw once again that environmental protection is the personal responsibility of each of us. Such initiatives play a key role in shaping environmental culture among youth.”
At the conclusion of the event, the most active participants were awarded certificates of honor by the “Young Naturalist” public organization.
