On September 22-23, 2024, in Ankara, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Türkiye and the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) organized a chess tournament in honor of the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence.
Representatives of foreign diplomatic missions and their families, chess enthusiasts and the media were invited to the chess tournament held in the building of the Gökyay Foundation Chess Museum.
As part of the events, an exhibition was launched, which presented the works of Makhtumkuli Fragi, as well as exhibits reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, their history and traditions.
