Turkmenistan participated an event of the International Day of Yoga

On June 20, 2020, the Embassy of India in Turkmenistan organized an event dedicated to the International Day of Yoga that took place in the Centre of Yoga and Traditional Medicine located in the “Bagtyyarlyk” sport complex of Ashgabat city.

The representatives of the diplomatic corps of the country, residents of Turkmenistan and other countries practicing yoga took part in the event distantly.

As is known, the International Day of Yoga was established by the UN General Assembly in 2014 upon the initiative of the Prime minister of India.  Being one of the countries approving the given initiative, Turkmenistan stands for the promotion of healthy lifestyle principles, including the conduction of mass physical culture and health-improving movement, as well as the development of sport.
