Turkmenistan and the Organization of Turkic States aim to strengthen multilateral cooperation

A meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in a ceremonial event on the occasion of the announcement of the ancient Turkmen city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on expanding and strengthening multilateral cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States. In this regard, the Turkmen side emphasized that Turkmenistan, as an observer country, takes an active part in the activities of this international structure.
It was emphasized that Turkmenistan is interested in considering its partnership with a number of international structures affiliated with this Organization, in particular with TURKPA, the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
In addition, an exchange of views took place on the implementation of joint plans in the coming period.
