Turkmenistan and Poland eye establishing a Working group on economic cooperation

On 17 June 2024, political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Poland was held in Warsaw. The Turkmen side was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov, the Polish side – by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Marek Pravda, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

During the consultations, the sides exchanged views on topical issues of cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The sides confirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening the Turkmen-Polish partnership.

They reaffirmed their mutual commitment to intensify bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, with an emphasis on expanding cooperation in trade, economic and social spheres, and improving the contractual and legal framework. It was proposed to explore the possibilities of creating a Working group on economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Poland.

Further solidifying their partnership, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs signed a Cooperation Program for 2025-2026, outlining future collaboration in the political and diplomatic spheres.

On the same day, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov met with the Chairman of the Committee of the Organization for Cooperation of Railways (OSJD) Miroslav Antonovich. During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas of bilateral partnership.
