Turkmenistan and Afghanistan discuss TAPI pipeline

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan accompanied by the Director of the Turkmenistan for the TAPI project, Muhammatmyrat Amanov, called on IEA Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.
During meeting, the two sides reviewed the latest developments regarding the preparation for extending the TAPI pipeline in Afghanistan.
FM Muttaqi emphasized that extending the TAPI pipeline within Afghanistan is among the top priorities for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, & the relevant Afghan departments have completed their work on the project.
FM Muttaqi expressed optimism that the practical work on the TAPI project in Afghanistan would begin soon.
Later, Mohammad Murad Amanov confirmed that Turkmenistan has already extended the pipeline to its border with Afghanistan and assured that preparations for the pipeline’s extension into Afghan territory are on the verge of completion, with the practical work expected to start soon.
