Turkmen-Russian consultations took place in Moscow

On November 28-29, 2019, in the premises of the MFA of the Russian Federation consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation on bilateral collaboration in the framework of the CIS, international organizations, including the topics related to the agenda of the 74th and 75th sessions of the UN General Assembly, as well as on the issues of external policy planning were held.

During the consultations, the issues of cooperation between the external policy agencies of the two countries in accordance with the Programme of Cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation for 2019-2020 were considered. Noting its efficiency, the participants of the consultations highly appraised the results of the chairmanship of Turkmenistan in the CIS in 2019, discussed the priority vectors of cooperation for 2020, as well as the cooperation in the framework of the international organizations.  

The parties stated the presence of the opportunities for consistent improvement of bilateral and regional partnership, the level of cooperation in the area of economy, trade, transport, energy, particularly in light of the adoption of the Declaration on the Strategic Economic Partnership of the CIS states-participants. During the meeting, special attention was paid to the cultural-humanitarian collaboration.  

The consultations held reaffirmed the high level of mutual understanding between the external policy agencies of Turkmenistan and Russia on the key issues of bilateral, regional and global agenda.  The mutual preparedness to hold further political consultations on the regular basis was reiterated.
