On February 16, 2026, a meeting of representatives of the business circles of Turkmenistan and the State of Kuwait took place in the city of El Kuwait, in the framework of which the official economic delegation of Turkmenistan visited the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kuwait for the first time.
The Turkmen side was led by Mergen Gurdov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. During talks with Deputy Director General of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry Firas Al-Oda, current issues related to expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation and increasing mutual investment in priority sectors were discussed.
Special attention was paid to the creation of stable mechanisms of direct interaction between the business circles of the two countries, including the formation of a permanent platform for establishing contacts between companies of Turkmenistan and Kuwait. It was emphasized that this format will allow to optimize logistic processes and improve the contractual and legal basis of cooperation.
The strategic importance of Turkmenistan as a reliable partner with a favorable geographical location and significant resource potential has been established.
Provision of food security, development of industrial partnership, as well as cooperation in the field of energy and petrochemicals were identified as promising areas of cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening of bilateral relations and consistent development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
