Turkmen doctors get to work in Afghanistan in frames of humanitarian aid

On the basis of the Order of the President of Turkmenistan, on May 15, 2023, three Turkmen doctors, in frames of a humanitarian action, arrived to Herat province to provide medical and advisory assistance to Afghan women and children at the maternity hospital in the village of Turgundi, Herat province of Afghanistan, which was built by Turkmenistan in 2016 as a humanitarian aid.

The Afghan side warmly welcomed the doctors in the Turgundi settlement. Specialists have begun their work to provide women and children with appropriate care in the maternity hospital. The visit of Turkmen doctors will continue until the end of May this year.

As is known, on May 3 this year, the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Afghanistan (Herat) held a humanitarian action on the occasion of major repairs in this maternity hospital. During the event, necessary medicines and medical supplies were also provided as humanitarian aid.

Turkmenistan, based on good neighborly traditions, continues to provide assistance to neighboring Afghanistan. This, in turn, serves for the benefit of the further development of traditionally friendly, fraternal and good neighborly relations between the Turkmen and Afghan peoples.
