The results of the first Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the countries of Central Asia and the Russian Federation were summed up

On May 12, 2022, the first Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the countries of Central Asia and the Russian Federation, held on the initiative of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, completed its work at the Ashgabat Congress Center.

During the Forum, issues were discussed in three areas: “Legislative body of state power: modern experience and cooperation”, “Medical diplomacy: exchange of experience is a reliable way forward”, “Regional cooperation for the sake of environmental well-being and sustainable development”.

The following documents were signed at the Forum:

– Agreement on cooperation between the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation;

– Agreement on cooperation between the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The documents from Turkmenistan were signed by the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, from the Russian Federation – by the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko and from the Republic of Tajikistan – by the Chairman of the Majlisi milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Rustami Emomali.

At the final meeting of the Forum, the results of the work of the plenary sessions were summed up and the “Ashgabat Declaration of the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the States of Central Asia and the Russian Federation” was adopted.
