On July 13, 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov had a meeting with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates Suhail Al Mazrui.
During the talks, the parties discussed topical aspects of the Turkmen-Emirati agenda. The high level of confidential dialogue between the top leadership of the two countries was emphasized. The ministers also noted the positive cooperation of the countries within the framework of international organizations, in particular the UN.
Speaking about trade and economic cooperation, R. Meredov and Suhail Al Mazrui noted the existence of favorable opportunities for expanding partnerships in the field of energy, industry, and high technologies. The prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE were also discussed in order to expand cooperation in the field of rational use of renewable energy sources, ensuring energy security.
The ministers noted the importance of the “green economy” and exchanged views on the use of sustainable energy, the promotion of innovative technologies and expertise in these areas.
In conclusion, the parties expressed confidence that the meetings held on a regular basis between Turkmenistan and the UAE will contribute to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas.
