The issues of interaction of Turkmenistan with the EBRD were considered

Today, on November 19, an online meeting with the delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development headed by Managing Director, Central Asia for the EBRD Zsuzsanna Hargitai took place.

From the Turkmen side the meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan G.Mushshikov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan V.Hajiyev.

In the course of the constructive talk the parties discussed a number of directions of mutually beneficial cooperation of the financial-credit institutions, private sector of Turkmenistan with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The Turkmen side, having noted the start of successful implementation of new “Program of the Development of Foreign Economic Activity for 2020-2025”, underlined the need of further activation of cooperation with the EBRD on broad range of issues, including the projects in the field of energy, transport, light industry, development of small and medium businesses, while taking into account the environmental component.

Underlining the readiness of the EBRD further extend assistance to the Turkmen side in accordance with the Country Strategy of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on Turkmenistan for the period of 2019-2024, the representative of the EBRD on Central Asia stated the presence of huge potential for joint implementation.

During the meeting the parties also considered the prospects of interaction in all the fields of mutual interest.
