The Heads of Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Iran discussed priority issues of cooperation

On October 3, 2021, a telephone conversation was held between Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the constructive conversation, the ministers reviewed a wide range of bilateral and regional issues. Special attention was paid to the implementation of agreements reached during the meeting of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Ebrahim Raisi on the platform of the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The heads of foreign ministries expressed the need to further expand and strengthen bilateral partnership in political and diplomatic, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian interaction. The sides expressed mutual readiness to hold the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation.

In the course of the talks, the Turkmen side invited the high-ranking Iranian delegation to participate in international events to be held in Turkmenistan this year.
