Telephone conversation of the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan

On July 8, 2020, a telephone conversation took place between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi.

During a constructive conversation, the Foreign Ministers of the two countries discussed a wide range of issues regarding the regional and international agenda, as well as pressing issues of bilateral cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, transport and cultural-humanitarian fields. In this context, diplomats emphasized the importance of regular contacts at a high level.

Discussing issues of comprehensive cooperation within the framework of authoritative regional and international organizations, the heads of foreign affairs agencies noted the closeness of the positions and interests of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan on pressing topics of the global agenda. The intensification of partnerships at international sites, mutual support of the initiatives of the two countries has become a separate subject of discussions.

The Ministers especially noted the importance of intensive contacts aimed at expanding and strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation with a view to the universal struggle against the pandemic.
