On 27-31 May 2024, a study visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan is taking place in Tbilisi regarding the best practices in the WTO accession negotiation process, as well as advancing national trade policies.
The Turkmen delegation includes representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Ministry of Justice, the Central Bank, the State Customs Service and others.
Within the framework of the study visit, the Turkmen delegation held meetings with their counterparts at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Revenue Service of Georgia, as well as with the representatives of the Customs Department.
The meeting touched upon issues related to bilateral relations in the field of economy and trade, the WTO membership process, main functions and responsibilities, Georgia’s accession to the WTO and related commitments. The issues of modernization and simplification of customs procedures, fiscal reforms implementation within the WTO membership and others were also discussed.
