President of Turkmenistan proposed to Japanese companies several concrete initiatives

The President of Turkmenistan, His Excellency Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is in Japan on a working visit to participate in the first summit of the “Central Asia–Japan” Dialogue, held a business meeting with the heads of leading Japanese companies.

Speaking at the meeting, the Head of State put forward a number of important proposals for the Japanese business community.

In this context, the President proposed that Japanese companies consider several concrete initiatives.

  • First, it was proposed to develop a project for the construction of a modern plant for the processing of household and construction waste, with the aim of minimizing the volume of waste sent to designated landfills through sorting, recycling, and reuse.
  • Second, an initiative was put forward to implement a project aimed at improving the quality of wastewater treatment to a level that would allow its reuse in industry and municipal services.
  • Third, readiness was expressed to study projects for the establishment of small plants for recycling plastic bottles in order to reduce the amount of plastic waste in the environment and to direct polyethylene for secondary use.
  • Fourth, it was proposed to explore the possibility of implementing a project for a small plant for recycling household appliances, with the aim of reducing the volume of hazardous and long-decomposing waste containing metal, plastic, and electronic components.
