On April 30, 2020, the online meeting of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan V.Hajiyev with the Regional Coordinator of the International Organization for Migration, Chief of IOM Missions in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan Zeynal Hajiyev was held.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the key vectors of cooperation of Turkmenistan with the IOM, in the context of joint implementation of the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan on the provision of international transportation in emergency situations and the Document “IOM Global Response to Covid-19.” Special accent was also made on migration and healthcare, migration in emergency situations.
The parties considered the current and perspective projects, including the Action Plan for 2020. The significance of strengthening cooperation on countering human traffic was underlined. The issue of involving the IOM to the development of national programmes was discussed.
