On holding the cycling event “Turkmenistan – China: Friendship, Health, and Ecological Diplomacy”

On April 29, 2026, as part of the implementation of the state policy for the development of mass sports and physical culture, as well as in honor of the National Month of Health held in Turkmenistan, a ceremonial cycling event took place in the capital of the People’s Republic of China with the participation of diplomats from the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the PRC, as well as Turkmen and Chinese youth.

The event, held under the motto “Friendship between China and Turkmenistan, low-carbon health and youthful spirit,” was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the PRC with the active assistance of the “Flying Pigeon” Chinese Cycling Association, as well as Chinese companies such as the “China-Turkmenistan Cultural Center” and the oldest bicycle manufacturer in China, the “Flying Pigeon” company.

The holding of this sporting event became a clear confirmation of the high level of partnership between Turkmenistan and China in the field of culture and sports.

The start and finish of the cycling event took place at a symbolic point — the National Pavilion of Turkmenistan. A group of participants, consisting of representatives of youth organizations, followed a specially developed route passing through the key streets of the “Dongzhimen” district.

The sports action took place in an atmosphere of good neighborliness and solidarity. This cycling event is part of the multifaceted activities of Turkmenistan to promote sports diplomacy in the international arena. It once again emphasized the role of sport as a universal bridge connecting cultures and contributing to the long-term prosperity of the two peoples.

The organizers expressed confidence that such initiatives will contribute to the further enrichment of bilateral relations and the formation of new traditions within the framework of cultural and sports exchange between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China.
