Newly Appointed Ambassador of Türkiye Presents Credentials to the President of Turkmenistan

On 28 August 2026, in Ashgabat, the newly appointed Ambassador of Türkiye, Şener Cebeci, presented his credentials to the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, TDH reports.

Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye are bound by the closest brotherly relations of a long-term, strategic nature, the Head of State emphasized while congratulating Şener Cebeci on his appointment as Ambassador.

“Cooperation between the two countries is built on mutual respect and trust. Constructive dialogue at the highest state level, as well as regular mutual visits and negotiations of government delegations, make a significant contribution to strengthening fruitful partnership,” the TDH report notes.

In this context, Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality on 12 December 2025 gave a new impetus to the overall strengthening of interstate cooperation.

Turkmenistan and Türkiye successfully interact both bilaterally and within authoritative international organizations, primarily the United Nations.

The parties noted the alignment of the two states’ views on international and regional issues of mutual interest, particularly those concerning global peace and security and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Speaking on economic cooperation, President Berdimuhamedov called Türkiye one of Turkmenistan’s largest trade and economic partners. A significant role in expanding bilateral interaction in this area belongs to the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and the Business Council.

Furthermore, the two states and their peoples actively develop ties in culture, science, art, and creative fields.

In this regard, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that Ambassador Şener Cebeci will fully contribute to elevating the interstate partnership to a qualitatively new level.

In turn, Ambassador Cebeci assured that he would make every effort to further strengthen brotherly relations between the two countries and peoples, and to develop effective cooperation meeting mutual interests.
