National Equestrian Games Group “Galkynysh” participated in the VII International Ethnosport Festival in Istanbul

In May 2025, the 7th International Ethnosport Culture Festival was held in Istanbul, Republic of Turkiye, which has already become a world-famous event. This significant international forum was organized by the World Ethnosport Confederation.

The festival featured a wide range of national cultural groups from different countries, their customs, equestrian games and traditional sports.

The delegation of Turkmenistan, represented by the National Equestrian Group “Galkynysh”, which widely glorifies the culture and art of Turkmen horse breeding in the international arena, performed with dignity at this prestigious event. This group, created on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, makes a significant contribution to the development and popularization of the national heritage.

Members of the Galkynysh group demonstrated the highest level of skill in performing horseback riding tricks, presented Turkmen national costumes and musical performances, which aroused great interest and admiration among both spectators and international guests of the festival. Particular attention was drawn to the Akhal-Teke horses, specially delivered from Turkmenistan. These famous horses, known for their beauty, endurance and unique movements, became one of the main symbols of the festival.

This international cultural event not only became a vivid demonstration of the rich equestrian heritage of Turkmenistan, but also played an important role in strengthening friendly ties between the peoples of the world.
