On March 16, 2025, a delegation headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov was received by the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed to the Amir of Qatar warm greetings and best wishes of the esteemed President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani thanked the Turkmen side for good wishes and addressed greetings in return to the leadership of Turkmenistan, wishing that the performed good deeds and fasts, prayers in the holy month of Ramadan would be accepted by the Almighty.
Noting the activation of bilateral relations, the Turkmen side emphasized the importance of the telephone conversation with the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan held on March 3 this year.
Along with constructive bilateral cooperation, the effectiveness of interaction in multilateral formats, primarily within the framework of the United Nations, was emphasized. In particular, it was noted that the International Forum of Peace and Trust will be held in Ashgabat on December 12, 2025 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the country’s neutrality. The Qatari side was invited to participate in this international forum and official events.
