Meeting with German chancellor to boost relations between our countries

The meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will boost Turkmen-German relations, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov said during his meeting with Scholz at the Central Asia – Germany summit in Astana, reports the official Turkmen media.

Scholz emphasized Germany’s high interest in deepening partnership with Turkmenistan.

He pointed out that Turkmenistan has earned international recognition for its wise policies and progressive initiatives.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss key issues of bilateral cooperation, which is developing based on trust and mutual respect.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of systematically developing bilateral relations, supported by 90 agreements and treaties.

President of Turkmenistan also mentioned the significance of cross-sectoral Economic Days, business forums, exhibitions, and the work of the Turkmen-German Joint Working Group and the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, which contribute to effective interstate cooperation.

To note, the second Central Asia — Germany (5+1) summit is taking place in Astana. At the first 5+1 summit, held in Berlin last year, a strategic regional partnership program was signed.
